Located approximately 6 miles northeast of downtown Truckee, this friendly neighborhood of fewer than 1500 homes is a peaceful and secluded community that many locals call home. Quiet streets and a lower snow load than elsewhere in Truckee make this area highly desirable by locals. .
Ready access to the regions recreational amenities yet only 30 minutes away from Reno and its’ breadth of services makes this area an ideal logistical location. The public lands surrounding Glenshire offer endless recreation opportunities: mountain biking and hiking in summer, and cross country skiing in winter, plus easy access to Boca Reservoir and Stampede Reservoir for fishing, camping, boating, and waterskiing.

Gateway to the Sierra, Truckee is a town which is not only rich in history, but which is undergoing changes to meet the needs of a growing community. According to recent census figures, Truckee has undergone a population explosion. It’s population has doubled in size from 1990 to 2000 which accounts for almost 40% of the population growth in Nevada County during the past 10 years. One reason appears to be an influx from the Bay Area by those who had discovered Truckee’s unique lifestyle. Numerous premium commercial, residential and resort building projects are completed or underway for the area.
